Freddie Freeman homered in 5 straight World Series games

Freeman also hit a solo home run in Game 2, then launched a two-run blast into the right field seats in the first inning of Game 3 at Yankee Stadium, giving the Dodgers an early 2-0 lead.

Freeman became only the third player in World Series history to hit a home run in each of the first three games of the series, joining Hank Bauer in 1958 and Barry Bonds in 2002.

Dating back to his time in Atlanta, Freeman has now hit a low of five straight World Series games, tying George Springer for the all-time record.

After Shohei Ohtani's leadoff walk, Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt left a belt-high cutter over the inside third, and Freeman turned it and sent it a Statcast-predicted 355 feet into the right field seats.

It was quite a World Series for Freeman, who in Game 1 became the first player in Fall Classic history to hit a walk-off grand slam. He did this while playing with a severe right ankle sprain, which conjured images of Kirk Gibson's walk-off home run for the Dodgers in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series. (Only Freeman, Gibson and Toronto's Joe Carter have ever hit a walk-off home run while their team was trailing at this point.)

Famously, this was Gibson's only attack of the series as he struggled with injuries. Freeman, on the other hand, could be on his way to becoming World Series MVP, ankle problem and all.
