2024 Election Live Updates: Former Trump Staff Member Claims He Praised Hitler's Generals; Harris woos undecided voters at CNN town hall

Barack Obama raps Eminem's “Lose Yourself” at a rally in Detroit

Donald Trump is facing a new storm of criticism after he once said he needed “the kind of generals Adolf Hitler had.”

“I need the kind of generals Hitler had,” the Republican presidential candidate reportedly declared The Atlantic. “People who were completely loyal to him, following orders.”

The claim was vehemently denied by Trump's campaign team.

Trump's former chief of staff John Kelly also told the story The New York Times that the former president repeatedly praised Hitler and warned that the GOP candidate met the definition of a fascist.

Kamala Harris, meanwhile, took part in an interview with NBC News on Tuesday evening and will then hold a CNN town hall with Anderson Cooper in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, where she will field questions from undecided swing-state voters today, while Trump campaigns in Georgia and JD Vance visits Nevada.

The Republican predecessor in the White House, Barack Obama, was joined on stage by Eminem last night in Detroit, Michigan, as the duo campaigned for Harris.

The rapper introduced Obama, who returned the favor by reciting the lyrics to his hit “Lose Yourself.”

A voter audit in Georgia found that among 8.2 million registered people, only 20 were non-citizens

Election officials in Georgia conducted an audit of voters in the state and found that there were only 20 non-citizens among the 8.2 million registered people in the state.

Secretary of State Brian Raffensperger announced the results today that underscore the idea that non-citizen voting is extremely rare, despite what some in the Republican Party and the Trump campaign claim and seek to cast doubt on the results before the election sow.

Based on affidavits they signed to withdraw from jury service, the 20 people were determined not to be citizens, Raffesnperger said in a news conference this morning.

These records were then compared to federal citizenship and voter registration databases. Their registrations have been canceled and the matter has been referred to law enforcement for further investigation and possible prosecution.

“There is no evidence that this overwhelming number of non-citizens are registered,” Gabriel Sterling, the chief operating officer at the State Department, said Wednesday. “Because the reality is, if you are not a citizen, are a legal resident and are on the path to citizenship, you will never become a citizen if you try to register as a voter. It’s very high risk, very low reward.”

The state of citizenship of another 156 people was not immediately determined and is subject to further review.

“Georgia is a role model when it comes to preventing non-citizens from voting,” Raffensperger said, adding, “We must remain constantly vigilant.”
