Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant paid tribute to his teammates throughout his career after surpassing 29,000 point totals on Saturday night.

“I have to give credit to the people who have helped me since I was a kid,” Durant said, according to the Associated Press (h/t ESPN). “Teammates who passed me the ball, set up screens for me, coaches who set up plays for me.”

Durant became the eighth player in NBA history to reach 29,000 points in the Suns' 114-102 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. He finished the game with 31 points, nine rebounds and two assists while shooting 10-21 from the field and making four three-pointers.

Durant is known for his goalscoring abilities. He has the ability to remain efficient from all areas of the field while using his height to outrun smaller defenders and thwart shots.

The former MVP owns a career average of 27.3 points per game sixth best mark in NBA history and the third-best point total among players who have competed in at least 1,000 contests.

Durant's efficiency makes his volume score even more impressive, as he has 50.1/38.7/88.4 shot splits since being drafted No. 2 overall in the 2007 draft.

He was also surrounded by several All-Star teammates throughout his career, starting with Russell Westbrook and James Harden with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Durant also had the opportunity to play alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green and win two championships with the Golden State Warriors.

The 36-year-old teamed up with Kyrie Irving and reunited with Harden with the Brooklyn Nets before teaming up with Devin Booker in Phoenix after a blockbuster trade in February 2023.

While Durant's own scoring prowess was the main reason for his historic performance on Saturday, he also acknowledged the teammates and coaches who supported him on his basketball journey.
