“We couldn’t be more excited for our New York Yankees to bring the World Series to the Bronx this week,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a statement. “With increasing demand to attend this historic game, I encourage New Yorkers to protect their hard-earned money and be on the lookout for possible scams.”

Hours before first pitch Monday, nosebleed seats at Yankee Stadium were selling for hundreds of dollars on Ticketmaster and StubHub, with a ticket behind first base selling for $43,743.

According to the New York State Division of Consumer Protection, there are many ticket sellers on sites like Craigslist and Facebook Market Place who are taking advantage of hometown fans desperate to watch the Yankees turn things around.
