School bus ends up in a ditch in an accident involving three cars and a distracted driver

EATON COUNTY, MI – A school bus ended up in a ditch this morning when it was involved in a three-vehicle crash with a distracted driver who ran a stop sign, police said.

According to a news release from the Eaton County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of Royston and Clinton Trail. Two passenger vehicles and a Dean Transportation school bus were involved; There were no children on board the bus during the accident.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the southbound driver in the crash was distracted and ran a stop sign without stopping.

All three drivers were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

“Please remember to remain alert and focused while driving to keep our roadways safe,” the sheriff’s office said.
