Apple's (AAPL) Mac Mini is shrinking in size in its first device overhaul since 2010

Apple Inc. has overhauled the design of its Mac mini desktop computer for the first time in about 15 years, reducing the device's size to just 5 inches and adding faster M4 chips.

The new models are less than half the size of the previous Mac mini design introduced in 2010 by then-Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs – making them closer to the dimensions of an Apple TV set-top box. Beyond the new chassis, which is 2 inches tall, the computers will feature M4 and M4 Pro processors, part of a wave of Mac upgrades that include this generation of chips.
