18-year-old arrested after involvement in robbery and hotel shooting in Oxford

OXFORD, Miss. (WMC) – An 18-year-old was arrested after being involved in a robbery and shooting at a hotel in Oxford, Mississippi, according to the Oxford Police Department.

On Oct. 20, officers responded to a call of shots fired in a hotel room.

Officers arrived at the scene but found no one inside.

They were notified shortly thereafter that a victim had arrived at Baptist Memorial North Mississippi.

According to police, an investigation revealed that several people were in the hotel room when a suspect demanded money and pulled out a gun.

Shots were fired in the hotel room.

On Tuesday, officers found the suspect, Christopher Suggs Jr., and took him into custody.

He was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
