Yankee fans rage after Aaron Judge delivers another dismal World Series performance: 'Cost us a ring'

It's obvious to everyone and very painful to New York Yankees fans – Aaron Judge is having a terrible postseason capped by an even worse three-game World Series.

The Yankees are on the verge of playoff elimination heading into Game 4 on Tuesday and are hoping to avoid falling in baseball's championship series for the first time since 1976, when they lost to the “Big Red Machine” Cincinnati Reds.

In 12 postseason games in 2024, Judge has six hits and just two home runs in 43 at-bats, for a batting average of a dismal .140.

Those numbers drop to a 1-for-12 mark in the World Series, with Judge notching one hit and posting a .083 batting average in Game 1 against Los Angeles.

In the Bronx, the other four boroughs and the rest of New York fans have had enough of Judge's disappointing postseason. No. 99 is far from the only underperforming Yankee, but he is the most notable.

“Someone tell Aaron Judge this game is meaningless so he can score,” famous New York stand-up comedian Sam Morril said on social media.

“I love Aaron Judge for all the moments he gave us, but I don’t think we will ever forget this postseason. He tarnished his MVP and his legacy.”

“It's been a fun year leading up to this series.” “Aaron Judge's legacy is shot here.”

“Aaron Judge just ruined his Yankee career in 12 games.” He did. He cost us a RING. A championship. #28. He's the reason we're not raising a banner for #28. He will NEVER have the same sparkly haze again. He will never be the same again. 33 next season and our future doesn't look bright. That was it. He had his chance. He screwed up.'

The Yankees, who have won an MLB-best 27 championships with the second-place Cardinals holding 11, have not added to their World Series trophy haul since 2009. This has only happened twice since the turn of the century.

Judge is 32 and is playing in the World Series for the first time. Yankees fans should expect their biggest star to have an MVP-like season before playoff disappointment.

The Yankees and Judge can, of course, turn fortunes against Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers.

Of the 24 World Series duels so far in which a team took a 3-0 lead, only three did not end in a draw. Nobody made it to a Game 6.

History doesn't seem to be on Judge's side. He will have at least three attacks to end his massive slump.
