Paramedics were on duty at Alexandria City High School Tuesday morning after a teenager sustained a jaw injury in a fight

This morning, paramedics were called to Alexandria City High School after a student sustained a jaw injury in a fight.

According to scanners, a 15-year-old was injured in an attack. A school employee came forward and told doctors that the student was suffering from jaw pain.

“At approximately 8:58 a.m. today, school staff called King Street Campus Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for a student who was experiencing a medical emergency due to an altercation with another student,” Principal Alexander Duncan said in a message to students . “Several students were present during this medical emergency. Because students experienced this event, we would like to share this information with you in case your child speaks about this incident and you determine that he or she needs support.”

Duncan said students can speak to a counselor or trusted adult at any time or contact a crisis line by texting CONNECT to 85511 or calling 703-527-4077.

“We are grateful for the quick response of our staff and emergency services,” Duncan said. “The safety and well-being of our students and staff is Alexandria City Public Schools’ top priority.”
