Rockford woman accused of stabbing 60-year-old man

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A man is fighting for his life after a stabbing occurred in northwest Rockford Monday night.

Daphne Bell, 50, of Rockford, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and obstruction of justice in connection with the case.

On Oct. 28 around 10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Ashland Ave. called to report a stabbing. According to police, the victim, a 60-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital and is in serious condition.

Bell was later arrested and taken to the Winnebago County Jail where she is awaiting a detention hearing. She is scheduled to appear in court on October 30.
