Who is Philadelphia-born serial killer Keith Gibson?

On February 8, 2021, 54-year-old Christine Gibson was found shot to death in her Philadelphia office where she worked as a mental health counselor. Philadelphia police determined within a day that her son Keith was the prime suspect in her murder Philadelphia Investigators.

“Initial reports indicate that Mr. Gibson's mother has informed numerous friends and family members that if anything were to happen to her, her son would be responsible,” Gibson's probation officer wrote in court documents Requester reported.

Christine Gibson's body was discovered by her colleague and friend Linda Osuigwe.

“We were suspicious but had no evidence,” Osuigwe said CBS News.

Police believe Gibson's mother was not his first victim after he was released from Delaware prison in December 2020.

Eric Flores, 50, and Roy Coban, 42, were found shot in the head and killed in January 2021 at the Al Madinah Traders store they owned in North Philadelphia. Police later matched the ballistic munitions found at the scene to Gibson's gun. KYW News Radio reported.

“He was an amazing person,” said Coban’s widow, Darlene Roman NBC Philly in April 2024.

Gibson was arrested for absenteeism from the state, a probation violation, and deported from Philadelphia to Delaware in March 2021. Although the Delaware Department of Corrections recommended that Gibson be sentenced to six and a half years in prison for the violation, the judge said instead he sentenced him to 31 days of time served and was released in April 2021, it said NBC Philly. A department spokesman said that Gibson's public defender stated during the sentencing that “Gibson had the prospect of stable housing, employment and community support upon his release.”

Gibson requested a transfer to Pennsylvania and reported to state parole officers in Philadelphia on May 12 Requester.

On June 5, 2021, Gibson allegedly forced Christine Lugo, a 40-year-old mother, into a Dunkin' store in Philadelphia where she was a manager when she opened the store. Police said surveillance video showed him allegedly robbing Lugo and the store of $300 before shooting her and fleeing.
