Jarvis Scruggs is facing numerous drug charges

DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) – A Morgan County man was arrested Monday night after a week-long drug trafficking investigation.

The Decatur Police Department Vice/Narcotics Division initiated the investigation after receiving complaints about the distribution of illegal narcotics in southwest Decatur.

The suspect was identified as Jarvis Scruggs and a search warrant was obtained for his home as probable cause.

On Monday evening, investigators executed the search warrant at his home on Wimberly Dr. SW and contacted Scruggs.

During the search, Scruggs was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. A firearm and a sum of money were also found and confiscated.

Scruggs was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Illegal Drugs, 1st Degree Possession of Marijuana, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He has since been released from the Morgan County Jail on $25,300 bail.
