Driver injured, trapped between two vehicles in crash in Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, officers were called to the Pine Street Bridge for a report of an accident on October 29 at approximately 1:10 p.m

According to police, 64-year-old Ricky Cochran was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Pine St. when a bale of hay fell from his truck.

Cochran stopped his vehicle on the roadway and then got out to retrieve the bale of hay.

A car also traveling east on Pine St. struck the bridge's concrete guardrail and Cochran's truck, pinning him between the two vehicles.

According to police, EMS and firefighters managed to free Cochran from between the two vehicles and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the passenger car, 35-year-old Jeremy Thurner, was also taken to the hospital.
