Man accused of taking woman hostage at Fargo hotel

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Perham, Minnesota man is in the Cass County Jail, accused of threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend and holding her against her will in a Fargo hotel room.

Fargo police were called to the America's Best Value Inn in the early morning hours of October 26th. When officers arrived, the woman said Jamie Frazee took her cell phone, car keys, purse and vehicle and she was afraid to leave.

According to court documents, the woman and Frazee separated about a month ago. The woman says she met Frazee at the hotel on October 24th. As she planned to leave on Oct. 25, she said Frazee had “flipped.”

The victim says Frazee drove her car around Fargo, stopping at random locations. At one point, he tried to put out his cigarette on her face, burning her right cheek, court records say. The woman said Frazee had a black folding knife between his legs while driving and held it to her neck about six to seven times.

Police found the woman had a red burn mark on her cheek and found a black folding knife between the seats in her car.

The woman told officers that they had returned to the hotel room and Frazee was upset that she had left, so he used her credit card to pay for another night.

“She felt like she couldn't leave because Jamie mentioned he was going to hit her,” an officer wrote in court documents.

The woman says she tried to leave the hotel but Frazee pushed her out of the way. According to court documents, Frazee forced her to undress and shower while he watched. He is also accused of threatening to kill and dismember the woman to “teach her a lesson.”

A responding officer said the woman was shaking, shaking and nervous as she described what happened.

Frazee returned to the hotel while officers were there and was arrested. He is charged with two counts of terrorism and two counts of simple assault. Bail was set at $15,000 cash.
