The deadline for mailing in ballots in Arizona is approaching

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — If you kept your ballot, now is the time to mail it in.

Tuesday is the last day voters in Arizona can mail in their ballots to have them counted in next week's general election. If you mail it today, make sure it arrives at the county clerk's office by November 5th at 7:00 p.m.

This deadline only applies to the mailing of ballot papers. Voters can continue to drop off their ballots at secure ballot drop boxes until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

If you've changed your mind about early voting, that's no problem, said Maricopa County Registrar Stephen Richer. You can still go to a polling place and cast your vote on November 5th, and you don't need to bring your ballot with you.

But be aware, he said, this year's ballot is lengthy and the election process could take some time.

“The vote and the response to it are immense. The Board of Supervisors has opened more polling places, and there are more check-in locations and more voting booths at each polling place, but the point remains, the voters will do it.” “On average, it takes longer because it's an average of 79 contests.” said Richer.

Richer said his office has already seen over a million voters participate in this year's election, representing more than half of all registered voters in the county.
