Barbados police investigate death of driver struck after road accident | Caribbean

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Police in Barbados are investigating the death of a 43-year-old driver who was struck after he was involved in a traffic accident in St. Michael and attempted to flee the area.

Police said they previously received a report of an accident in which a woman was injured and the driver attempted to flee.

They said a group of men chased the driver, later identified as Pedro Caddle, and beat him.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they discovered his injured, unresponsive body.

Emergency services were called but found no signs of life.

Caddle was confirmed dead at the scene by a doctor.

The accident victim was taken to hospital.
