Adel-Mann faces multiple charges of child abuse crimes

ADEL, Ga. (WALB) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced the arrest of an Adel man following an investigation into his alleged sexual misconduct with minors.

On Friday, October 18, the Cook County Sheriff's Office requested the GBI investigate after allegations were made against Michael Steven Bennett, 43. The GBI says initial information shows that Bennett “solicited high school boys to engage in sexual acts,” a report said.

The GBI later arrested Bennett and charged him:

  • Invitation to sodomy
  • Human trafficking for sexual servitude
  • Cruelty to children in the first degree
  • Criminal attempt to commit a crime

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
