Woman is accused of injuring her child while working at daycare

DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. (WXIX) — An Indiana daycare worker is facing criminal charges after she allegedly injured a child at work on Oct. 22.

Jordan Combs, 23, of Harrison, Ohio, is in the Dearborn County Jail on a battery charge.

The Dearborn County District Attorney's Office says Combs worked as a teacher in the toddler room at a Lawrenceburg daycare center.

An employee noticed that one of the toddlers had a swollen upper lip, police said.

When they reviewed the surveillance camera footage, prosecutors said it showed Combs was alone in the room with the toddler when she picked the child up from the floor and aggressively forced him onto the crib.

The public prosecutor's office assumes that the child's head hit the crib and caused the mouth injury.

Court documents show that investigators also saw a video that showed Combs “rude” taking a blanket and placing it over the little girl's head.

She was also seen forcefully grabbing the girl's arm and placing her on her back, causing her head to fall to the floor, court documents say.

It is currently unclear whether Combs is still employed at the daycare.
