Dodger fans and local law enforcement are preparing for a possible World Series win

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department urges LA Dodgers fans to celebrate responsibly.

The dire warning comes as the Boys in Blue continue to challenge for the World Series title against the New York Yankees after three straight wins.

“We are organizing our sheriff response team to be prepared for any nights that the World Series games are played in the event that neighboring towns or our stations need additional assistance,” said LASD Deputy Jacob Sivley.

The Sheriff's Response Team (SRT) is a group of highly trained law enforcement personnel who respond to emergencies that threaten public safety. The teams are prepared for a variety of situations, including crowd control, riots and mass arrests.

“We can enjoy things like this, but with that comes some responsibilities,” Deputy Sivley said.

After the Dodger victory in Game 3 of the World Series on Monday night, unruly fans gathered at the intersection of Atlantic and Olympic boulevards in East LA.

Sheriff's deputies declared an unlawful assembly and dispersed the crowd after fireworks were set off and cars performed stunts on the street. No injuries or arrests were reported during the incident.

Over the weekend, fans gathered for another street takeover at the nearby intersection of Atlantic and Whittier boulevards following the Dodgers' Game 2 victory over the Yankees on Saturday night.

In a social media post, LASD urged the public to be mindful of the safety and well-being of others during the celebration.

“Please remember that disruptive or illegal behavior is not acceptable,” the sheriff’s department said online. “Our deputies will be fully deployed to maintain order and protect public safety.”

Although no plans have been announced yet, the Dodgers organization is already planning a World Series victory parade.
