Submit a video to participate in the ice hockey handoff for the IIHF World Junior Ice Hockey Championships

The Twin Cities will host the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in about 14 months, but now fans can take part in a special video to celebrate the event coming to the hockey state from Ottawa .

Short videos submitted by fans, as well as those from prominent Minnesotans and hockey legends, will be combined into a video montage titled “The Great Minnesota Puck Pass.”

Fans can submit their 5- to 10-second videos now through December 16th. Videos should follow one of three prompts: pass an imaginary puck, watch an imaginary puck pass across the screen, or participate in a favorite hockey activity.

The Great Minnesota Puck Pass video will be played for the first time at the conclusion of the 2025 championship in Ottawa in January as part of the event's handover ceremony from Canada to Minnesota.

The video is also being shared online and on social media.

The IIHF World Junior Ice Hockey Championships is an international U20 tournament that attracts top young players to take part in the premier event. This is the second time Minnesota has hosted. The games will be played from December 26, 2025 to January 5, 2026 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul and the Mariucci on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.
