Bonnabel High student accused of molesting boys and filming child pornography in Kenner

KENNER, La. (WVUE) – A 17-year-old Bonnabel High School student is charged with sex crimes involving boys after he was arrested Monday evening (October 28) at a trailer park in Kenner.

According to Kenner police, officers responded to a call shortly after 7 p.m. accusing Luis Renan Bonilla-Alfaro of molesting children at the Airline Oaks Trailer Park.

After officers arrested the teen, police said he confessed to molesting a 4-year-old and a 7-year-old boy.

Kenner police obtained a search warrant for the teen's phone, which authorities said contained sexually explicit photos and videos of Bonilla-Alfaro and the two children, as well as a third, yet unidentified boy.

“I consider this individual to be a serial sex offender considering that he self-documented for some reason based on the actions of these three children,” Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley said.

Bonilla-Alfaro was charged with first-degree rape, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of pornography involving a juvenile under the age of 13 and two counts of indecent behavior toward a juvenile

Police confirmed that Bonilla-Alfaro is a student at Bonnabel High and a resident of the mobile home park where he was arrested. Investigators believe he befriended families with small children in the trailer park in order to turn them into victims.

“We hadn't heard any rumors that anything had happened to children,” a trailer park neighbor told Fox 8.

Conley says Bonilla-Alfaro is currently in ICE custody after authorities determined he entered the United States illegally from Honduras. ICE has not yet confirmed to Fox 8 when or how the teen arrived in the country.

This is the second juvenile sexual assault case linked to the Airline Oaks Trailer Park this year. Last month, police arrested 23-year-old Diego Rodriguez-Salvador, who was accused of kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl in the trailer park.

Rodriguez-Salvador is also undocumented and entered the United States illegally.

“Thank God they arrested (Bonilla-Alfaro), they caught him, and I hope they do what they have to do with him,” a neighbor told Fox 8.

Kenner police said they want any other potential victims of Bonilla-Alfaro to come forward, either by calling the department or leaving an anonymous tip with Crimestoppers.

The Kenner Police Department has a staff of bilingual officers and emergency dispatchers to assist any Spanish-speaking neighbors who wish to reach out.
