Lewiston man killed in rollover crash on I-95 in Palmyra

PALMYRA (WGME) – A Lewiston man was killed in a rollover crash on I-95 in Palmyra Tuesday evening, according to Maine State Police.

According to police, the accident occurred in the northbound lane near mile marker 155 around 9:26 p.m.

According to investigators, an SUV driven by 21-year-old Isaac Lemieux of Lewiston veered left of the road, struck the guardrail and then rolled several times.

Lemieux was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe speed and alcohol contributed to the crash.

After the accident, several other northbound vehicles crashed into a piece of the guardrail that was in the left passing lane.

These drivers reported only minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
