play

The Mega Millions jackpot has grown to an estimated $250 million in Tuesday's drawing after no one won the top prize on Friday.

The winning numbers will be drawn on Tuesday shortly after 11 p.m. The results can be found below.

In March, a lucky Mega Millions player from New Jersey won a whopping $1.1 billion. Although this prize has not yet been claimed, the lottery says it is not the first time a jackpot has gone unclaimed.

If someone is lucky enough to hit the $250 million jackpot on Tuesday night, they can take home an estimated lump sum payout of $115.5 million after taxes, according to the lottery.

How to play Mega Millions

To purchase a ticket, you'll need to visit your local supermarket, gas station, or convenience store – and in a few states you can purchase tickets online.

To play you must select six numbers. Five numbers are white balls ranging from 1 to 70. The gold mega ball is a number between 1 and 25.

If you think the odds are stacked against you, ask for a “Quick Pick” or an “Easy Pick.” The computer then randomly generates the numbers for you.

Players can add the “Megaplier” for $1, which can increase non-top prize winnings by two, three, four or five times. The Megaplier is drawn on Tuesday and Friday before the Mega Millions numbers.

There are 15 Megapiler balls in total:

  • 2Xfive balls
  • 3Xsix balls
  • 4Xthree balls
  • 5Xa ball
