Apparent Leak Reveals Pokémon Legends ZA Starter

Will these be the starters for Pokémon Legends ZA?

The starters for Pokémon Legends ZA have apparently been leaked via artwork for the 2025 Pokémon World Championships. Since its announcement eight months ago, there has been surprisingly little news about the next installment of Nintendo's Pokémon game.

However, there has been a flood of leaks about the game in the last few weeks. Of course, the validity of these statements cannot be fully confirmed until we receive some official announcements.

These leaks seem to be somewhat credible, especially thanks to the artwork and the timing of the release. The Pokémon World Championships will take place in August 2025. By then we'll (hopefully!) know a lot more about the game, so introducing Pokemon, including starters, from Pokemon Legends ZA makes a lot of sense.

What are the Pokémon Legends ZA starters?

According to the leak, the Pokémon Legends ZA starters are:

This would be a simple return to the original starters we had in the 6th generation games, X and Y. Fans were expecting a mix of starters from different generations, so this leak comes as a bit of a surprise for some. The only other Pokémon Legends game, Arceus, used starters from multiple generations. However, these Pokémon were all new Hisuian forms in their most recent evolution. We don't know if this will happen again.

With the return of Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends ZA, there is hope for Mega Evolutions of the three starter final forms. That would mean Mega Greninja, Mega Chesnaught and Mega Delphox. This could ease some fans' disappointment over a direct rematch of the Generation 6 starting lineup.

Are these leaks reliable?

If this artwork is real, at first glance this seems to be a reasonably reliable assumption and a leak. However, nothing is confirmed until it's official, and it could be a throwback to X and Y rather than a Legends ZA-style piece of art. That would be a bit strange considering Legends ZA is in sight when this event takes place, but it's not impossible.

Hopefully, official information about Pokémon Legends ZA will be released soon. Information about starter Pokémon is usually shared fairly early on. So stay tuned to esports.gg for more information.
