Dummy share new video for “Dip in the Lake”

After the release of their new album Free energyDummy, out now via Trouble In Mind Record, have shared a new video for “Dip In The Lake”. The song is described by the band as their version of a “Velvet Underground song paired with Francesco Messina piano loops and pulsating cluster synthesizers.” “Dip In The Lake” went through countless evolutions during the writing of Free Energy, offering a spacious, dreamlike soundscape before it finally begins to build tension for the descent that follows. The Los Angeles band includes Alex Ewell, Emma Maatman, Nathan O'Dell and Joe Trainor

Regarding the “Dip In The Lake” video, Maatman says, “Since I had the benefit of directing all of our music videos for this record, I wanted to take the opportunity to tie them all together in some way.” “Dip In The Lake” is musically a centerpiece of the album, so I reflected that feeling with this video in particular, incorporating elements and scenes from our other music videos to further tie them together. Those who have been paying attention to the Greater DCU (Dummy Cinematic Universe) will definitely pick up on these through lines.”

This week Dummy will embark on an extensive headlining tour of Europe, which will include appearances with Wishy and Three Quarter Skies. Upon their return, the band will play a special “Welcome Home Show” at Gengis Cohen in Los Angeles on Sunday, December 15th with Guck, Puli and GMO.
