Zachery Merriman, who is accused of killing Kimberly Ricks, has been transferred to the Morgan County Jail

MORGAN CO., Ala. (WAFF) – A Priceville man accused of killing his ex-wife has been moved to another prison facility, according to prison records.

Zachery Merriman was transferred from the Lawrence County Jail to the Morgan County Jail on Tuesday, according to Morgan County Sheriff's Office jail records.

Merriman was being held in the Lawrence County Jail for assault and burglary. Priceville police obtained an arrest warrant for Merriman last week in connection with the shooting death of his ex-wife, Kimberly Ricks.

Officials said Ricks was found shot to death the morning of Oct. 20.

Ricks' family said they had applied for a protection order against Merriman in the past, but it was denied.

Merriman is charged with murder and is being held without bail.
