Osage County judge sentences Irish Mafia member to life in prison for orchestrating murder

On Wednesday, an Osage County judge sentenced a man with ties to the Irish Mafia to life in prison for ordering the murder of an Irish Mafia member in 2021.

Zachary Millard was convicted in early October in the death of Mitchell Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

According to court documents, Tulsa Police and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) cooperated in the investigation.

Investigators discovered that Millard, an inmate at the Dick Conner Correctional Center, had used a contraband cell phone to stage Robert's murder from prison.

“This incident highlights the importance of preventing contraband from entering correctional facilities,” said Attorney General Gentner Drummond. “Giving inmates access to prohibited items such as cell phones puts the safety of both prison staff and the public at risk.”

Millard was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole for murder. He also faces 30 years for burglary, one year for conspiracy and five years for gang offenses.

“This conviction sends a strong message that prison gang members will be held accountable for their activities to perpetrate violence inside or outside prison walls,” said Brett Mize, First Assistant District Attorney, District 10. “I am grateful for the coordinated efforts in the “Investigations between the Tulsa Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as the careful prosecution preparation by Heather Anderson and the Attorney General's Office.”
