An 82-year-old Eldorado woman is seriously injured in an accident in Fond du Lac County

The woman was transported by ambulance from the scene to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital.

ELDORADO – An 82-year-old woman from Eldorado was seriously injured in a crash in Fond du Lac County on Oct. 29.

According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, the department responded to a 911 call around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday reporting a one-vehicle accident on Ridge Road at Lincoln Road in the town of Eldorado. Eldorado Fire Department/First Responders and North Fond du Lac Ambulance also responded to the scene.

The woman was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. She was wearing a seatbelt and had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency responders before being transported by ambulance to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing, but the sheriff's office learned the vehicle was traveling west on Lincoln Road, failed to stop at the stop sign at Ridge Road, continued into the ditch and struck the embankment. This caused the vehicle to overturn and land on its driver's side.

No further information was immediately released.
