The littlest patients at Green Bay Hospital are celebrating their first Halloween

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Nearly two dozen neonatal intensive care patients at HSHS St. Vincent Children's Hospital in Green Bay are getting dressed up for Halloween.

The hospital released photos Tuesday of newborns wearing fancy costumes in anticipation of Thursday's spooky holiday.

Hospital officials say the costumes help lift spirits and put smiles on the faces of families whose infants are in the neonatal intensive care unit.

“We also need to show compassion to each of our families by giving them a smile or two during this sometimes overwhelming and emotional time,” said James Burke, NICU manager at HSHS St. Vincent Children's Hospital, in a news release. “We hope we can bring some joy to families during this challenging time by helping families dress their children for the holidays.”
