Arnold Schwarzenegger supports Kamala Harris: “I will always be an American before I am a Republican” | Arnold Schwarzenegger

Former Republican governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced he is supporting Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in next week's election.

In a long post[s] Politics” and “didn’t trust most politicians,” he felt compelled to officially support Harris and her choice for Vice President Tim Walz.

I don't actually do any advertising. I'm not afraid to share my views, but I hate politics and don't trust most politicians.

I also understand that people want to hear from me because I'm not just a celebrity, but a former Republican governor.

My time as governor taught me…

“I will always be an American before I am a Republican,” he wrote. “That’s why I’m voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz this week. I'm sharing this with all of you because I think many of you feel the same way as me. They don't recognize our country. And you’re right to be angry.”

Schwarzenegger, who quit acting while serving in California between 2003 and 2011, went on to write that he was disappointed in all those who have been in power in the US over the past few decades and in their handling of the national debt and “our broken immigration system “We would have discussed it,” but he doesn't succeed. This continued during the campaign, he said, as politicians preferred to have “talking points” for elections rather than “providing the public service that will improve the lives of Americans.”

“It’s a fair game for them. But it is the life of my fellow Americans. We should be angry,” Schwarzenegger wrote. “But a candidate who doesn't respect your vote unless it's for him, a candidate who sends his supporters to storm the Capitol while he watches with a Diet Coke, a candidate who has shown no ability “To work on passing anything else.” A tax cut that helped his donors and other rich people like me but no one else, a candidate who believes Americans who disagree with him are bigger enemies than China , Russia or North Korea – these will not solve our problems. ”

Schwarzenegger, who replaced Donald Trump as host of The New Celebrity Apprentice in 2016, has long been an outspoken critic of the former president and current Republican candidate. Schwarzenegger compared the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol to Kristallnacht in Nazi Germany and described Trump as “a failed leader.” He will go down in history as the worst president of all time.”

On For someone like me who talks to people all over the world and still knows that America is the shining city on a hill calling to America [a] Trash Can for the World is so unpatriotic it makes me angry.”

If Trump is re-elected, he said, “it will just be four more years of bullshit with no results, making us increasingly angry, divided and hateful.” We must close the door on this chapter of American history, and I know that the former President Trump will not do that.”

“I want to move forward as a country,” he concluded, “and while I have many disagreements with their platform, I think that is only possible with Harris and Walz.”
