“Flammable liquid” splashed on students during a fight at a school in Mecklenburg County

MINT HILL, NC (WBTV) – A Mecklenburg County high school was placed on a modified lockdown Wednesday morning after a “flammable liquid” was sprayed on students during a fight.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools passed along a message confirming the incident Rocky River High School.

According to the release, the liquid was sprayed on an unspecified number of students after a fight broke out in the school's cafeteria.

School officials said the modified lockdown was initiated to de-escalate the situation.

At least one student was taken to the hospital. This student's mother said the liquid was a mixture of urine, bleach and gasoline.
