Alexandria man arrested for drug possession on Lakeside Drive

ALEXANDRIA, La. (CALF) – According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, an Alexandria man was arrested on Lakeside Drive on Oct. 20 for drug possession.

RPSO said Alexandria police responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment on Lakeside Drive Tyrik De'Shaun Jackson19. Officers said they learned he was the sole tenant of the apartment and was in possession of marijuana and at least one gun.

RPSO said the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement Unit searched the residence and found 19 individually wrapped plastic bags of marijuana (139.1 grams), an AK rifle, a loaded 60-round magazine, various amounts of additional ammunition and a digital scale.

Jackson was taken into custody without incident, arrested and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center. He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegally carrying firearms containing drugs.

RPSO said APD also charged Jackson with various charges related to the domestic violence allegations and two outstanding warrants for contempt of court.

He was released the following day on $15,500 bail on drug charges.
