REPORTS

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2024-10290029, 300 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 7:38 a.m. on October 29, police were dispatched to report a break-in that had just been discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male victim was entering a vacant apartment in a residential building to perform maintenance work when he noticed the male suspect inside. The victim verbally confronted the suspect, who then left the building. The suspect then walked toward the victim outside the building and allegedly attempted to punch him before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. A lookout was dispatched and responding officers located an individual matching the suspect's description in the area of ​​N. Glebe Road and N. Quincy Street and took him into custody. Garland Mines, 38, of Arlington, Virginia, was arrested and charged with unlawful entry, assault and battery. He was held without bond.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (late), 2024-10290123, 3100 block of N. Taylor Street. On October 29th at approximately 2:49 p.m., police were dispatched to a late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim returned to his residence and noticed signs of a break-in attempt. The home was not entered and no items were reported stolen. There are no suspicious descriptions. The investigation is ongoing.
