Predicted Liverpool vs Brighton lineup: Carabao Cup

CONFIRMED LINEUP: Jaros; Bradley, Gomez, Quansah, Robertson; Morton, Endo, Jones; Gakpo, Szoboszlai, Diaz

Liverpool will face Brighton & Hove Albion twice in the next four days; First up is the Reds' Carabao Cup game at the American Express Stadium.

The defending Carabao Cup champions drew with Brighton in the competition's round of 16 after beating West Ham 5-1 in the third round. Liverpool have not yet played for Fabian Hürzeler's side this season and will now do so as the team is plagued by a long list of injuries.

Diogo Jota remains out with a rib injury while Alisson is suffering from a hamstring injury. Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa are also not fit, so Arne Slot doesn't have too many options to switch into his starting XI. The good news for the Reds is that Conor Bradley has returned to training after picking up a knock while representing Northern Ireland.

Expect some rare faces to be called up in Wednesday's game as Slot manages his team ahead of the big Premier League clash against Brighton on Saturday November 2nd.

TW: Vítězslav Jaroš– The goalkeeper could make his first start if slot Caoimhín Kelleher wants to rest.

RB: Trent Alexander Arnold– Without many options on his bench, Slot will likely rely on Alexander-Arnold on Wednesday. Bradley is also an option, although the right-back has not played 90 minutes for the Reds since September.

CB: Joe Gomez– The England international could be in the starting line-up for only the second time under Slot should the coach give his captain and Ibrahima Konaté a break.

CB: Jarell Quansah– Quansah may have lost his starting place to Konaté, but he is still a reliable substitute in cup competitions, despite scoring an own goal against West Ham in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

LB: Konstantinos Tsimikas– Expect Slot to continue to favor Tsimikas over Andy Robertson in midweek games.

DM: Wataru Endo– The Japan international faces a rare start under Slot after the coach praised his performance in the final round of the competition.

DM: Curtis Jones—Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch both need to take a break. Expect Jones to get the nod after starting for Arsenal against Chelsea.

RW: Mohamed Salah– Having just saved a point for Liverpool against the Gunners, Salah will look to continue his outstanding goalscoring form. The winger has already scored eight goals in all competitions this season.

AM: Dominik Szoboszlai– After losing his starting spot to Curtis Jones at the weekend, Szoboszlai is expected to return to the eleven.

LW: Cody Gakpo—Díaz will rest before Liverpool host Brighton in the Premier League this weekend, leaving Gakpo to start in his place.

ST: Darwin Nunez– The Uruguayan is Liverpool's starting striker for the foreseeable future as Jota remains sidelined with a rib injury.
