San Francisco Weather: The Bay Area Forecast for Halloween

OAKLAND, Calif. – As kids prepare to dress up as Taylor Swift and characters from Despicable Me this Halloween, the question undoubtedly arises: Do I need to wear a coat—maybe even a raincoat—over my costume?

The answer to the first question is probably yes.

KTVU meteorologist Steve Paulson said Thursday's trick-or-treating hours will be chilly.

At 6 p.m. it will be the 50s and 60s.

At 8 p.m. temperatures drop to over 50 degrees.

And for the teenagers who are out until 10 p.m.? The prognosis is between 40 and 50 years.

Will it rain on Halloween?

As for the wet weather, forecasters say the Bay Area could see rain overnight on Wednesday and then again on Friday.

But Thursday should be dry.

The Bay Area should be mostly spared from rain on Halloween, Paulson said.

However, he recommended joining forces.

“It won’t be very warm,” he said.
