End of Week Warm Up – Boston News, Weather, Sports

Our warm front moved through the area today and gave our temperatures a nice little increase with some sunshine in the afternoon. But the real surge of warm air will be here on Thursday and Friday.

With warmth comes wind, which is not good news for the ongoing firefights across the state. The wind will become stronger on Thursday and become quite gusty on Friday. Winds will die down significantly over the weekend as temperatures fall back into the 50s. Don't forget that the dreaded time change is coming up this weekend! We'll gain an hour of sleep Saturday night, but the price will be the sunsets at 4:30 p.m.

The Halloween forecast is approaching record levels. The record is 81° and many of us will come very close to that. If not THE warmest, it will probably be the second warmest Halloween ever. So this year there are no parkas to cover these costumes! Which of course isn't out of the question, it's New England after all! Just four years ago, the other side of the coin was when we picked up 4 inches of snow today in 2020, making for the snowiest October day ever for the city of Boston!

This Halloween is the exact opposite as we challenge record highs.
