There is no longer any conflict between Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs and reporter Mike Leslie.

While Diggs confronted Leslie over a social media post following the Cowboys' loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, the two cleared things up on Wednesday. As Leslie explained, he apologized for misinterpreting the play he posted about, while Diggs apologized for his postgame response:

The play in question was a long gain for 49ers tight end George Kittle.

While it looked like Diggs was jogging, he said he actually expected Kittle to get cut. And he let Leslie know about it after the game:

Since then, cooler heads have prevailed, although Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy wasn't happy it happened.

“I think we have to be better in these moments. I always talk about staying on a good path,” McCarthy said, according to ESPN Todd Archer. “That’s part of our responsibility in this business. But I'm not ignorant or naive to the fact that this generation is a part of the world they live in, the social media world. You have to deal with that. That’s part of being a professional athlete and that’s part of representing this organization appropriately.”

Diggs also addressed the situation The Edge with Micah Parsons:

There's certainly a lot of frustration at this point, even with the cornerback and Leslie clearing the air. After all, the team is 3-4 and suffered its second loss in a row.

The team also has two ugly losses to the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions and appears to be a step below the NFC's elite teams. Things won't get much easier in the next four games with duels against the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans and Washington Commanders.

Diggs and the entire team need to get better in the near future or the season could be over.

And that's certainly not what anyone expected after the Cowboys made the playoffs each of the last three seasons.
