Athens woman jailed on drug charges after traffic stop in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – An Athens woman is facing multiple drug charges following a traffic stop Monday.

The Limestone County Sheriff's Office said 29-year-old Caitlin Gonzalez was stopped in the area of ​​Nick Davis Road. and Mooresville Rd. for equipment violations.

Officers said probable cause led them to search the vehicle. During the search, fentanyl, methamphetamine, pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.

Gonzalez was charged with drug trafficking – fentanyl, two counts of ingestion of a controlled substance (pills), possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

She is in the Limestone County Jail on a $9,500 bond
