Taylor Swift's side-by-side video shows professionalism after a malfunction

Taylor Swift's fans have put together videos showing the pop music icon's deft handling of stage mishaps.

Swift, 34, is in the final leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, which will ultimately have performed 152 concerts across five continents.

Given the scale of the stadium shows and the number of concerts, it's no surprise that Swift faced a number of disruptions on stage. But the new video shows how she handles it professionally.

Taylor Swift performs onstage during her Eras Tour at Caesars Superdome on October 25 in New Orleans. The singer had a stage malfunction a few nights later in The Big Easy.

A video posted by user @thisisvertrying on X, formerly Twitter, showed the same moment Swift performed the song “Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?” (WAOLM)” from two different Eras concerts.

The first was from a show in Paris in May and the other was from their concert in New Orleans on October 27th.

At the Paris show, Swift will perform on a rotating silver cube, which her fans call a “Roomba,” which moves across the giant stage as she holds on to a white pole for balance.

But when that cube malfunctions during the New Orleans concert, a quick-thinking Swift jumps away and continues running down the stage. She also performs the same dance moves at the same point on the stage as if she were on the cube.

“Wow, this video really shows how professional Taylor is. She was still performing the entire 'Waolm' choreography while improvising after the stage disruption,” @thisisvertrying captioned the post.

Other Swift fans reacted to the video in replies to the original post.

“Sometimes it’s amazing to think about their decades of live experience. Obviously she's a young woman, but she's been doing this for so long. She is definitely a seasoned pro!” wrote @timeoutxyxy.

“I can almost guarantee that Taylor and the dancers are prepared for any situation. That's the kind of professional she is!” added @KaitlinMcCann43.

And @Carolinekeeth commented: “The way she finds it harder when she's not on the Roomba. Her freedom of movement was incredible. The way she went down on the ground – stumbling around like she was falling and being dragged. It was breathtaking, especially considering it was an improvisational performance.”

Swift has experienced many mishaps on stage since the first show of the Eras Tour in March 2023.

She swallowed a bug mid-song, had to run across the stage to make her next mark after technical glitches, and suffered several wardrobe malfunctions.

At a show in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Swift's piano began playing eerie music on its own, surprising the superstar.

“Did you hear that? Do you hear the piano? That’s crazy,” she said with a laugh, swapping the ivory keys for a guitar.
