Man accused of high-speed chase gets probation and prison

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Court documents show a man accused of leading state troopers on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle has pleaded guilty.

On Tuesday, October 29, Second Judicial Court Judge Scott Ellington sentenced Quamayne Da'zon Rose, 28, of Bragg City, Missouri, to 144 months of probation after pleading guilty to felony fleeing in a vehicle Pleaded guilty to mischief etc. had grievous bodily harm.

Court documents show Rose also pleaded guilty to reckless driving and received a 90-day jail sentence, 64 days of which he had already served. No charges were filed for fleeing on foot.

Rose was arrested Aug. 26 following a chase following a report of a stolen vehicle from a Walmart in Paragould.

The affidavit states that an Arkansas state trooper found the vehicle near Brookland and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Rose sped away, reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

The officer attempted to intervene twice with a tactical vehicle but failed both times. On the second attempt, his vehicle veered off the road and became “unusable.”

The chase continued into Jonesboro, where a third TVI was attempted but also failed as Rose drove away.

The affidavit said Rose was later arrested after a foot chase with another state trooper.
