A suspect has been arrested in the murder of a woman at a motel in southeast Atlanta, Florida, police said

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A suspect in the killing of a woman at a motel in southeast Atlanta in August has been arrested in Florida, police said Wednesday.

Atlanta police said 62-year-old Edward Hunt III was arrested Thursday, Oct. 17, by the Florida Highway Patrol.

He is charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with a killing at the Super 8 by Wyndham Atlanta/Jonesboro Road motel, 3701 Jonesboro Road SE.

Police said they responded to reports of a person down at the motel on Aug. 3 and found a 43-year-old woman lying on the floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said at the time that the victim appeared to have sustained blunt force injuries. They have not yet identified the victim.
