Another person was arrested as part of an ongoing drug investigation and more than 300 pounds of drugs were seized

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) – Officials with the Owensboro Police Department say a man was arrested Thursday in connection with a drug investigation that led to the arrests of 37 people earlier this year.

According to a “ target=”_blank”>OPD Facebook postthe joint operation with the DEA and IRS that resulted in multiple raids and arrests in August this year resulted in another search warrant and an arrest.

Officers arrested William Stewart on drug charges Wednesday morning.

Investigators executed a search warrant and handed Stewart a federal indictment warrant for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Several people in the August 2024 raids also have charges added to their federal indictments.

To date, 96 separate federal indictments have been filed. They say a total of 280 pounds of methamphetamine, 26 pounds of cocaine, a large quantity of fentanyl pills, 34 guns and $340,000 cash were previously seized.

This remains an ongoing and evolving investigation.
