The first fan to disturb Mookie Betts last night was identified as 38-year-old Austin Capobianco of Connecticut.

He said the Yankees' decision to keep him from playing tonight didn't surprise him.

“The ban on tonight's game was kind of expected, but the fact that my little brother and his friends can't use our season tickets tonight really pissed me off,” he said in a text message to NBC News. “It’s not like they can get to the next game.”

Capobianco is a longtime, die-hard Yankees fan, according to his college friend Rob Gronkowski, a former tight end for the Arizona Wildcats, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“He’s all-in for his teams, he’s all-in for the Yankees. I remember him talking about the Yankees all the time, how much he loves them,” Gronkowski told FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams” show.

“He's a funny guy. “This is definitely unacceptable in the world of sports,” Gronkowski said of the catch interference. “But when you're that big of a fan, that's what fans do.
