Mother, 9-year-old and 5-month-old baby dead after jumping into Niagara Falls

New York State Police are investigating an incident that left a mother and two young children dead.

A local woman from Niagara Falls, NY Chianti means33, and her children Roman Rossman9, and Mecca meansAccording to police, the five-month-old children fell to their deaths at Niagara Falls State Park on October 28 after circumventing safety measures.

Authorities were called around 9 a.m. “responding to an incident on or around Goat Island in Niagara Falls,” a opinion by the New York State Park Trooper James O'Callaghan read. “The investigation revealed that three individuals … crossed the safety railing and flew over Niagara Falls onto Luna Island (adjacent to Goat Island).”

Police were unable to find the victims' bodies, but concluded that the deaths of the three people were “intentional in nature.” An investigation is currently underway to find out more.

Trooper O'Callaghan spoke to reporters on October 30 to provide clarity on what police have discovered so far in their investigation.
