Trump's infamous Access Hollywood tape shocks younger voters on TikTok

Almost 20 years have passed since the infamous event Access Hollywood An audio tape was recorded featuring Donald Trump and Billy Bush, but thanks to a recent social media trend, some members of Generation Z are just discovering it for the first time.

The 2005 video, which showed Trump using a sharp microphone to talk about sex and groping women, is gaining popularity again on TikTok, with Gen Zers filming their reactions to the crude comments.

“Dads vote for this man,” TikTok user @katesullivan129 wrote over a video of her listening to the tape. At one point, their eyes widen when Trump is heard saying he has a wife who is “crazy” like a “b—-.”

Alongside her video – one of many similar posts on the platform that alone has generated 2.3 million views and almost 4,000 comments – the TikToker offered her own opinion.

“I don’t even know how you can look your daughter in the eyes and say you’re voting for Trump after hearing the way he talks about women,” she wrote.

Commenters on the post were also appalled by the former president's bravery, which, when the tape was leaked, led to former President Bush's firing Access Hollywood Host who worked at Today show back then.

“My dad knows about all this and is trying to justify it 😀 Dude, do you care about me??? or my sister??? or my mother??? “How…anyway???,” one commenter wrote, while others expressed surprise that Trump's 2016 campaign was virtually untouched by the leak.

“Billy Bush canceled and fired for laughing. The guy who actually said it, President. So messed up,” another person wrote.

In another video posted by @toxicthotsyndrome, which received more than 930,000 views, two young women sit side by side listening to the tape and are visibly disgusted by Trump's words.

The 22-year-old woman behind this account, Soleil Golden, narrated TeenVogue that she and her friend made the video so people could see “how depraved” Trump's comments were – including the most infamous line, in which he says that stars can get away with “doing anything” to a woman, even if they are her grabs “by the tail” —-.”

“It is extremely concerning that so many people like to portray Trump as a family man,” Golden said TeenVogue. “And he and Vance have tried to create an image of the importance of the American family unit, and that's why they're trying to eliminate many reproductive health services and facilities, if God forbid they win the election.”

Earlier this month at the Al Smith Dinner — attended by the former president and wife Melania Trump — the tape was mentioned by event host Jim Gaffigan.

The comedian compared Trump's recent false claims about Haitian immigrants eating pets in Ohio to his offensive comments in the tape.

“During the first and only debate, President Trump talked about migrants taking and eating cats,” Gaffigan said. “You know, if you're keeping track at home, this is the second time cat-snapping has been part of a campaign issue.”
