Dodgers' Miguel Rojas responds to Yankees' Jazz Chisholm's hateful comments

The Los Angeles Dodgers currently lead the New York Yankees 3-0 in the 2024 World Series.

Game 4 is Tuesday night and the Dodgers are one win away from taking home their second World Series title in five years.

As teams continue to compete on the field, a key storyline that surfaced earlier this season has resurfaced and involves one player on each team.

Earlier this season, then-Miami Marlins All-Star Jazz Chisholm Jr. had some harsh words for his former teammate, now-Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas.

In an appearance on the Pivot Podcast, Chisholm called out the Marlins' “team captain” for not only being a bad team captain, but also a bad person.

“I was already a team leader without being called a team leader. But the veterans, you can't be a team leader when you have people in the clubhouse that have been there 9-10 years, even if they suck, they” “I've been there 9-10 years and the team calls them that Team captain,” Chisholm said.

“But you’re not a good captain, you’re not a good person, you’re not even a good athlete at this point. They're just here. And you're bringing down the young people who are supposed to be good.”

Rojas responded to these comments back in March about the Chris Rose rotation. He was understandably upset.

“If you cross a line and say I'm not a good person and that's the only reason I'm here, I think he thinks I'm telling someone to be there and to please stay here so I can do ten Being a major league baseball player for years kind of bothers me,” Rojas said.

Now that Chisholm is playing for the Yankees and the teams are competing in the World Series, Rojas was asked about those comments again in an interview with the New York Post.

This time Rojas was clearly ready to move on.

“I don’t really pay much attention to other people’s opinions except for the ones I really care about,” Rojas told The Post. “I can’t really tell you anything about his opinion because I don’t understand his opinion the way he talked.”

Rojas added: “I feel like I know my worth. And I know what I bring to a team. Nobody needs to reinforce this.”

Chisholm was asked about the incident before the start of the World Series and said the former teammates had not spoken since their time in Miami.

“Like I said, I don’t mind,” Chisholm said. “I go out and play baseball and I enjoy baseball. Neither more nor less.”

The Yankees and Dodgers play Tuesday night in what could be the final game of the 2024 MLB season.
