Accused of kidnapping, torture and robbery, the police are looking for these two men

Two crooks are on the run, accused of beating and torturing a man in his own home. It happened on North Berkeley Lake Road NW in Duluth.

Gwinnett County police say Stephen Carlos Valenzuela and Jian Sun brutally beat the victim.

“He was tied up and kidnapped,” said Cpl. Juan Madiedo of the Gwinnett County Police Department. “These two guys are considered dangerous.”

According to police, on July 29, a man knocked on the front door. The homeowner replied. “He opens the door, just like usual,” Madiedo said.

Police told FOX 5 the victim knew the man. “He recognized who it was,” Madiedo said.

Police say the man was Jian Sun. They say another man, Valenzuela, burst in. According to the police report, one of the men pointed a gun at the homeowner.

“He was hit in the face and another unknown man broke into his house,” Madiedo said. “They tortured him, they insulted him, beat him with a belt and also started choking him.”

According to police, the attackers pushed the victim into his own car and drove him to an auto repair shop on Laventure Drive in Chamblee. According to investigators, the attackers put a bag over the victim's head and beat him again until he lost consciousness. They left him handcuffed there and drove back to his house.

“They searched his house, took some valuables and returned to the auto repair shop three hours later,” Madiedo said. “Ultimately, the suspect wanted money from the victim.”

Madiedo said the intruders eventually released the victim “with the expectation that this victim would give them a large sum of money.”

According to the police report, the victim said Sun and Valenzuela worked at TD Auto Shop. Both men face multiple charges, including home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping. Call 911 or Crime Stoppers if you have any information about this crime.
