A man is accused of shooting his victim outside a convenience store during an attempted robbery, police said

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a man accused of shooting a victim outside a grocery store.

On October 16, officers responded to a shooting call at the Very Lucky Green Food Mart on North Watkins Street.

When they arrived, they found a victim in the back of the grocery store suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers initially spoke with the victim, who told them he was shot by a suspect who demanded his personal items.

While viewing surveillance footage, officers observed a suspect armed with a gun approach the victim, they struggled for control of the weapon, and the victim was shot multiple times.

After further investigation, the suspect was identified as Tyreone Flemmons, 19.

Flemmons was taken into custody and is now charged with attempted aggravated robbery, reckless endangerment and use of a firearm.
