Ontario police warn about prop currency

Ontario Police are warning business owners that the department has recently received several reports of prop currency being introduced.

Police say that these bills appear genuine at first glance and that it is common for them to be intentionally crumbled, soaked or torn to appear as if they were in circulation. Some banknotes may also have a coating to prevent the ink from the currency markers from coming into contact with the paper. These invoices contain a disclaimer stating that they are merely prop money for entertainment purposes only.

Police recommend checking invoices before accepting them as payment.
