Two people were injured in an accident on Wednesday evening

ITHACA, NY – Emergency crews from Dryden, Lansing and Freeville converged on a two-car crash on West Dryden Road Wednesday evening. Two people were injured.

According to an announcement from Dryden Ambulance, emergency crews were on scene around 6 p.m. Wednesday when they were called to reports of a “very serious motor vehicle accident.”

When emergency responders arrived, the announcement said at least two victims were extricated from the rubble of the crash itself, while a fire that started after the crash was also extinguished.

No details were given about the injuries, but one patient was flown by helicopter to a regional trauma center while the other was taken by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center for treatment.

Further circumstances surrounding the crash were not disclosed. Tompkins County Sheriff Derek Osborne did not immediately respond to a request for comment The Ithaca Voice for more details, but his office is handling further investigation.
